Benefits of Riding a Groomed Trail

Snowmobile Clubs Generously Give

SSA AND SNOMAN:

Trail Reciprocity:  If you have a valid Saskatchewan registration on your sled you can access all of Manitoba's snowmobile trails at no extra cost.  What a great deal, not only do you get to access Saskatchewan’s 10,000 kms. of snowmobile trails but also you get an additional 10,000 kms. of snowmobile trails in Manitoba at no extra cost.

BENEFITS OF RIDING A GROOMED TRAIL
February 2005

  1. Better Fuel Economy. You will ride 15 to 25 more kilometers per tank of fuel.

  2. Safer for you and your sled. Less risk of an accident and subsequent damage to you or your sled. This will save in insurance claims and less hospital bills.

  3. Groomed trails are less harsh on your snowmobile; therefore, less repair costs associated with groomed trails because they are smoother to ride on and give you a more comfortable ride.

  4. You do not always need a guide to take you somewhere. You just have to follow the signs (this depends on how well the clubs sign their trail which is a function of volunteer help and money available).

  5. Travel more kilometers in a day on groomed trails because the trails are easier on your body and snowmobile.

  6. Groomed trails do not have trees and debris blocking the trail so you can get where you want to go.

  7. Warmup shelters are strategically located along the trail system. You can take advantage of these shelters to warm up and even cook your trail lunch.
